Tony Mombourquette lives in Timber Trails Mini-home Park in Lucasville with Janet, his wife of 45 years. His military career began in April 1974 at HMCS Cornwallis in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley, and over 25 years he served as a Radio Technician with the Canadian Armed Forces, with postings across Canada and a tour as a UN Peacekeeper in Egypt.
After retiring from the military in 1999, he supported radio communications for the RCMP across Nova Scotia as a Civilian Member, and he continues to serve his community today, working casual shifts with Commissionaires NS and as president of the Cape Breton Charitable Association's Halifax Dances.

Military career
1974Basic training at HMCS Cornwallis in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley, followed by trades training as a Radio Technician at the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics Engineering (CFSCEE) at CFB Kingston, Ontario
1976-77Posted to CFB Toronto (Downsview), Ontario. Attached to 73 Service Battalion in Ismailia, Egypt, for a six-month tour as a UN Peacekeeper, October 1976 to April 1977
1979Posted to Naval Radio Station (NRS) Newport Corner, outside Windsor, Nova Scotia, where he spent a total of seven years. During this posting he was sent to Canadian Forces Station (CFS) Alert, at the very tip of the Northwest Territories (now Nunavut), for a six-month tour
1986Four years as an instructor at CFSCEE, CFB Kingston
1990Three years at 5 Wing Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador
1993Three years at CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick
1996-99Returned to NRS Newport Corner, where he ended his military career in February 1999
After the military
1999-2002Three years with Nova Communications as a Radio Technician, supporting the development of the Offshore Energy Project at the Goldboro Natural Gas Plant
2002-2017Joined the RCMP as a Civilian Member, supporting the Emergency Response Team and the Tac Troop (Riot Control Team), as well as radio communications for every detachment and vehicle throughout Nova Scotia. Retired from the RCMP in November 2017
2020Since the Covid lockdown, working casual shifts with Commissionaires Nova Scotia
2023Became president of the Cape Breton Charitable Association's Halifax Dances
