Stones of Recognition
Recognize someone who served, or a family who stood behind them, with a stone at our cenotaph.
A memorial that can keep growing
When our cenotaph was built, more than 100 personal stones of recognition were inscribed with names. That list has not been added to in about ten years.
The Greater Hammonds Plains & Lucasville Cenotaph Society is being formed to change that. One of its first goals is to raise funds to add new stones, and we already have ideas about how to lay them and where they could go.
Before we begin, we would like to hear from you. If you would like a stone for yourself, a family member, a friend or a fallen comrade, let us know and we will keep you in the loop.
Four simple steps
Details will be confirmed as the plans come together.
Tell us you are interested
Send us a short email saying you would like one stone, or more than one. No payment is needed at this stage.
Tell us what you would like on it
Who the stone is for, their service, and the words you would like inscribed.
We confirm the details
We will confirm the wording, the cost and where your stone will go, before anything is final.
Your stone is added
Stones will be laid as plans and funds allow. We will let you know when and invite you to see it.
