Forming now

Greater Hammonds Plains & Lucasville Cenotaph Society

A community society to care for our cenotaph, keep our Remembrance Day ceremony going, and grow the memorial for the generations to come.

Where things stand: we are in the process of forming a society. Details such as registration, membership and board will be shared here as they are confirmed.
Why a society

What we hope to do together

Our cenotaph was built by neighbours. A society gives that community effort a lasting home, so the work continues year after year.

Keep the ceremony going

Plan and host the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the cenotaph, and share the program, the honoured veteran and the details with the whole community.

Look after our cenotaph

Be a clear, official group that can speak for the cenotaph, work with partners and the municipality, and welcome offers of help.

Grow the memorial

Raise funds to add new stones of recognition, so more veterans and families can be remembered at the cenotaph. Learn about Stones of Recognition
